Recipe of the Week: Baby Oatmeal
I have found some recipes in the For Dummies Book on feeding your baby and toddler I borrowed from the library. Luckily I've found the same and other recipes on various websites and blogs. I found this simple recipe on the Momtastic blog. I froze the rest of oatmeal and warmed it up for subsequent meals.
For babies 4-6 months
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup of ground oats (use regular or steel cut when possible), ground in blender or food processor
- 3/4 cup - 1 cup water
Directions:
- Bring liquid to boil in saucepan.
- Add the oatmeal powder while stirring constantly. Simmer for 10 minutes, whisking constantly, mix in formula or breast milk and fruits if desired
- Serve warm.
