Recipe of the Week: Baby Oatmeal

I have found some recipes in the For Dummies Book on feeding your baby and toddler I borrowed from the library.  Luckily I've found the same and other recipes on various websites and blogs.  I found this simple recipe on the Momtastic blog.  I froze the rest of oatmeal and warmed it up for subsequent meals.

For babies 4-6 months

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of ground oats (use regular or steel cut when possible), ground in blender or food processor
  • 3/4 cup - 1 cup water

Directions:

  1. Bring liquid to boil in saucepan.
  2. Add the oatmeal powder while stirring constantly. Simmer for 10 minutes, whisking constantly, mix in formula or breast milk and fruits if desired
  3. Serve warm.
