Before and After: the Bathrooms

We worked pretty hard to get our condo in order for the get together we had last night and while it's not 100% complete, it's really nice to have my clothes in drawers and food in the cupboards. We'll have to post final, final pictures once we have photos on the walls and all that.

Here are the before pictures of the guest half bath.  All the before pictures are pretty bad quality because there was hardly any light in the condo.  We installed lots of light fixtures so that's definitely not an issue now.

Here are the after pictures.  We installed granite countertops (the same as the kitchen), black and white tiles on the floor, all the fixtures are brushed nickel.  The vanity matches the one in the master half bath and includes lots of storage space.

We painted the bathroom walls Martha Stewart Living Etched Glass Interior Paint.  Everything is new including the light fixtures and the toilet.  We also installed dimmer switches in both of the half baths which is great for late night bathroom breaks and adjusting to the morning light.

Here is the before pictures of the bathtub, pretty nasty:

We put in white subway tile, the same as the kitchen back splash, and brushed nickel fixtures.  Instead of a soap dish we added four corner shelves which I really love.  We will definitely be doing the same in our "forever" home.  We bought those little suction hooks for our sponges so there is a place for everything and no hitting my legs on the soap dish.

Instead of putting up a towel rack in the very narrow room, we decided to get a curved shower curtain rack with a towel rack on it.  It's great when getting out of the shower because the towel is right there.  We added a heat lamp and a fan.

When the painters took off the old metal folding doors from the closet we realized that it looked good without the doors and really opened up the room so we decided not to put them back on.  We may get a curtain to cover up the shelves if we find one we like.  There's a hole above the light fixture that the contractor is going to come fix.

Here is the master half bath before the renovations:

Here it is after the renovations.  We put in two sinks in the vanity which we love.   The vanity we chose matches the one in the guest half bath with the same granite countertops.  They had to cut the drawers down because of the plumbing needed for two sinks.  The faucets are brushed nickel and match those in the guest bath.  The mirrors and toilet are also new.  We decided to put an extra towel rack in this bathroom which is great for when we'll have guests.

The bathroom transformation is amazing and even more so in person. Just so classy and could easily be documented in Architectural Digest.
