Albuquerque!

Albert received an email on Wednesday from the FAA with the official news that he had been selected for an interview for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Albuquerque Air Route Traffic Control Center. He will be interviewing with someone at the DC area.

He had been told he was being considered for New Mexico by an HR person over the phone, but he finally received official word that it is for Albuquerque! We are really happy that it's not Roswell :) He's being considered for the center, which controls air traffic in between take-off and landing via radar. This is good because it's a higher level than the airport tower and will be able to make more money.

Hopefully he will get his interview before Christmas, since the government pretty much shuts down during the holiday season.  It's nice that things are starting to move along, we're hoping to go to Oklahoma City by summer and Albuquerque by fall, but of course we have no idea when it will actually happen.

We've been looking up houses in the area and they are so cheap compared to here.  I'm so excited to eventually get a nice big home although we will probably live in an apartment for the first six months to a year, so we can decide where is the best place for us to live.   We're really excited about the beautiful weather and the change of pace, although we know it will be a culture shock for us and it will be hard to leave our great friends here in DC.
