Pioneer Day

July 24 we celebrated the Pioneers entering the Salt Lake valley by going to a BBQ. Our good friends Kim & Joe were there and took this picture. It was really really hot out, but the potato salad was cold and tasty so I didn't mind as much.

I'm thankful for all those who are pioneers, breaking new ground for the benefit of all those who come after them. I'm particularly grateful for my ancestors who left their cozy homes and families to walk thousands of miles to live in a place where they could practice their religion as they wanted, and Albert's parents who left their family and country to bring new opportunities to their children.
