Recipe of the Week: Piedmont-Style Rice
This recipe for Piedmont-Style Rice is also from Mama D's Homestyle Italian Cookbook. I'm a big fan of risotto, mushrooms, and prosciutto so I was excited to try this. I found this recipe which is similar. The proportions are a little different and Mama D added nutmeg and salt & pepper, but otherwise the ingredients are the same.
I liked this, it wasn't as good as I'd hoped and Albert said it was really similar to a Filipino dish, but I'd eat it again. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars. Next time I might put something other than prosciutto in it, maybe bacon or regular ham. The texture was weird for some reason and it's super expensive.
