South Beach - Miami

We didn't want to lose our street parking spot so we walked to dinner, which ended up being kind of far. We got to see lots of interesting things on our way though. We walked past the Art Deco district. I love Art Deco so I thought it was cool.

We also saw a hit-and-run.  One car hit a car stopped at a light and then immediately turned and sped off with the front bumper dragging on the ground.  All the people in the car that got hit jumped out and tried to chased that car down, but weren't successful.  We did see the car that ran off come back around past us after we walked further down the street, but we didn't get the license plate number.

The mannequins in the windows all have super huge bosoms. I guess it goes with the whole less is more feel people from Miami have about clothing.  Also being super skinny and super tan helps.  Even if your skin is so dried up it looks like roasted chicken.

The area by where we ate was cute. Lots of restaurants and gelaterias.

We ate Argentinian food at Cafe Charlotte.  It was recommended as one of the best cheap places to eat on South Beach.  It was tasty!  I got an Uruguayan meal with a fried egg.  There was hardly anyone in there, but it was Sunday around 4 PM so it wasn't a time where most people head out to eat.  Albert loved the sauces they gave him to dip his bread.  So if you're low on cash and want a tasty meal, eat here!

We decided to walk along the beach on our way back.  It was packed with people, way more than in Boca Raton.  There was a lot of trash too, Albert almost stepped on a broken beer bottle.  It was still fun and we picked up a few sea shells along the way.

After we got home I decided I wanted some gelato, but all the gelaterias were back where we ate and it was way too far to walk back. We found a little convenient store nearby that sold pints of Ben & Jerry's so we ate Chunky Monkey on the board walk. That's where we were when Jake & Bethany called to tell us they were engaged :)  Good times.

Your feet in the sand is a great photo. Also, I remember seeing lots of 'roasted chicken' ladies in Europe during the summer. I really don't care for that look - I'm happy with pasty. Guess South Beach really isn't for me!
