Recipe of the Week: Steak & Potatoes
Since we are pretty much in love with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse steak, Albert decided to make his own version using lots of margarine. He bought meat suggested by the butcher at the grocery store and went to work. It was delicious! This version is a lot less expensive and less caloric. He matched it with mashed pototoes and our usual green beans. This definitely gets a 5 out of 5.
Ingredients:
- butter
- parsley
- salt/pepper
- filet mignon
Directions:
- Rub butter, salt/pepper, and parsley on both sides of the filet, in that order. You can let it marinate or cook it immediately.
- Pre-heat the oven to broil and put an oven-proof pan or ceramic plate in the oven for about 15 minutes or until hot.
- Put the meat on the pan and put it back in the oven for 5 minutes depending on the size of the meat and how well you like it done.
- Turn over and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
