The Hall of State at Fair Park
On December 12, after we visited the 6th Floor Museum, we went over to the bad part of town to visit the amazing Hall of State. It was built in 1936 to commemorate Texas' independence from Mexico and to serve as a shrine to Texas history.
It was decorated in the 1930s art deco style, which I LOVE. All the art is symbolic and represents various points in Texas history.
I learned a lot of history all while enjoying the beautiful art and I'd highly recommend it if you're visiting Dallas. Plus it was FREE, which was a great deal!
