Embroidery Machine

Albert bought me a sewing/embroidery machine for my birthday in August, but we hadn't used it until the week before Thanksgiving when we had to get all the presents for our family in Florida ready. We had all these lofty ideas about the cool stuff we were going to embroider for everyone for Christmas, but actually doing it was a little trickier than we thought. We had to figure out how to use the machine first. Albert did most of it while I was at work because we didn't have enough time to get it all done otherwise.

First we practiced on a hand towel we bought for us. That went ok so we started on the other's gifts, which got progressively better as we figured everything out. We gave Albert's sister's family a beach bag with towels with each of their names embroidered on it, a small football, and beach toys. We gave Albert's brother and his fiancee throw pillows with their names on them and to Albert's niece we're giving a throw blanket with her name on it. Albert couldn't wait til Christmas so he insisted that everyone open their presents early so I'm not giving anything away, except for Maya's present, but I doubt she reads our blog, being only 9.
