Asian Festival 2009
True to any Asian festival, they had lots of goods to buy...
{I really want to buy our future baby girl a cute Korean dress}
{I am also going to buy our future baby a dumpling plush because it is so cute}
...and lots of food, most of it appetizing.
We took lots of pictures of the Filipino section:
{doesn't Albert look festive?}
Filipino fruit carving
I was fascinated by the Spanish Morione masks in the top left-hand corner {apparently Spanish colonists wear them in a passion play during lent} . Albert had motorcycle like the top right he got on a trip to the Philippines that broke before he got it home.
Next door to the Philippines and Thailand they had a section on Tibet.
They even had Tibetan music, dancing, and singing, which we had never seen before. While their costumes are great, their dancing and singing were boring and lasted a really long time.
Next they brought out the Chinese American beauty queens. The first one put on a magic show which was unimpressive -- just stuff you can buy at any magic store, but the last two performed really nice cultural dances.
They had the cutest little Chinese girls do a dance where they twirled scarves on their fingers.
{I love the pic of the little girl playing on the cell phone}
