No more lazy Sundays
Last Sunday we found out that we would be getting new callings at church (everyone is assigned to a job as we have no paid clergy) and this week they made it official -- they announce it to the congregation and everyone has the chance to say yea or nea to the proposed assignment by raise of hand. We're new nursery leaders for the jr. nursery. This means that a couple times a month we will be hanging out with 13 1-1/2 yr-olds for 2 hrs during church. I haven't been around this many babies...well, ever...so it should be an experience.
We went up to the nursery yesterday to check it out. They hadn't made our assignment to be with the younger nursery kids yet so we hung out with the nearly 3 yr-olds for a few minutes. They were fairly well behaved, playing with blocks, writing on the chalk board, and such. When we were going back downstairs we heard crying coming from one of the doors so we figured that had to be the jr. nursery where we'll be! Yay! There are usually 4 people in with the kids at any given time, so we won't be alone to fend for ourselves. We are excited to do something different and this will either enhance or smother any desire for a baby of our own.
(imagine this times 13)
After church we ate left over pancit (which turned out really tasty) and ran over to Kim & Joe's for a Settlers of Catan re-match. This time Erin joined us and I thought she might pull it out, but we got a couple lucky breaks and ended up winning! Finally! We had a bit of a losing streak going on.
