Ruth's Chris Steak House

For one week twice a year high-end restaurants in the DC area offer three-course meals for a discounted price. This special time of year is called Restaurant Week and we try to take advantage of it as much as possible. This year we decided to go to one our favorite restaurants instead of trying a new place. Last night, August 24, we went to Ruth's Chris and were so happy we did.

For our appetizer I had salad and Albert had roasted tomato and crab soup, both were good. We both opted for the 6 oz petite fillet drowned in butter, but I chose mashed potatoes (also covered with butter) while Albert had the creamed spinach for a side. They only had one option for dessert which was thankfully also gluten-free and very good. They had a small beaker with custard and fresh berries on the right side and a chocolate shell with chocolate mousse on the left hand side. The steak melted in our mouths, everything was so good! I'd highly recommend it (esp for celiacs as the menu was very accommodating). I came home and brushed my teeth and didn't eat a thing for the rest of the night.

We want to go to another restaurant this week. We'll see. Nothing like gourmet food for a non-gourmet price :D

Sounds like a great meal. I've never been there, but maybe one day.
