Sam's Club and the new TV

Right before we went to Boston Albert bought a new 42" Philips LCD TV to replace the old broken one. Originally we were going to get one from Wal-Mart, mostly because they have cheap warranties (seeing as how our last tv barely lasted a year we really wanted a warranty), but then he saw there was a better tv for less $$ at Sam's Club, which has cheaper warranties than Wal-Mart.

So he drove up to this Sam's Club in Maryland where they had the tv he wanted and used a free one day pass we happened to have to get in. It ended up that with the 10% non-member surcharge they add it was actually cheaper to pay for a year long membership. So we now have a Sam's Club membership and a new tv. Don't worry even with the 10% increase the tv would still be cheaper than anywhere else. Now we just have to figure out what else we are going to buy there.

Our tv is quite impressive. Although we don't have HD, it looks like we do. TV shows are fun to watch because it's like we're sitting in the studio audience. Sometimes it's a little disappointing because the tv quality is so good it shows all the flaws, so normally good quality tv shows end up looking like cheap soap operas.

So far we are very happy with our new Philips.
